You have dreams, but don’t know where to start. You are looking for a way to turn your dreams into reachable goals. But how do you do that?
10 Steps To Achieving Your Goals
1. Get clear about what you want. What exactly are your goals? Why are these your goals? What are you expecting to happen once those goals are met?
2. Get clear about the work required to get you there. What needs to happen to complete this goal? What are the steps that you need to make sure happen? Are there pre-requisite requirements you need to fulfill before the goal can be completed? How much will it cost? Do you need permits? Will you need help or is it a solo project? What education do you need?
3. Prioritize the actions you need to take. Write down the steps you need to take to complete your project. Now is the time to look at those steps and figure out which are the priority. Are there any steps you can skip or that can be achieved at a later time? If so, let those go and focus on the important details.
4. Take Action. This is a very important step. If you don’t take the action, it’s not a goal, it’s a dream. Now that you have the steps and know which are priorities, figure out how long it will take you to complete each step. Set a timer and just work until the timer goes off. Even if it’s only ten minutes, that’s ten minutes less you will have to do later.
5. Keep working. Move forward. Keep going. Do not stop!
6. Review repeatedly. A few times each day, review what you have completed so far. Keep track of what worked and what didn’t. What changes did you have to make?
7. Learn from the mistakes you’ve made. Did you fail? What didn’t work? Keep trying different things until you don’t fail anymore. Make a note of what did work and remember that for next time.
8. Do not give up. The important part is that you keep trying. Your dreams deserve a chance to come true.
The trick is to keep moving forward.
