In Theaters

WRITING PROMPT: Write a review about the last movie you saw in theaters.

BONUS CHALLENGE - Write about your experience in the theater itself.

It was late in the year 2019 and a new children’s movie came out in the theaters. I don’t remember what we saw, but my daughter and two small granddaughters took me to see the movie with them.

We sat in the front row of the stadium seating section because the floor seats would be too hard for us to contain the toddler.

We have popcorn, water, and candy. The youngest was still a baby and slept for all of the previews.

As soon as the movie started to roll, the baby’s eyes popped open and she needed to see what was going on.

My daughter kept her occupied so that she wouldn’t disturb the almost-full movie theater. They went for a walk around the other side of the half-wall so that she could rock her child in the standing position and soothe her child while still not missing the movie.

I honestly spent most of the movie keeping the oldest granddaughter occupied. I have no clue what the movie was actually about.

For our situation, the movie theater was a little too crowded and it was hard to stop the toddler from commenting on the movie. Luckily, the child is hilarious and the people around us laughed at her comments instead of shushing her.

She loved the attention. I think this may have been the event that triggered her to want to be a performer. All of my grandchildren like to be the center of attention and they’re getting pretty good at it.

The movie ended and we left the theater and I have not seen the inside of any theater since that date.
