One more thing you can’t do because of this stupid pandemic! One more thing you have to miss because the rules have changed again! You are so frustrated with everything going on in the world and the just want everything to go back to normal.

This pandemic has gone on so long we are starting to wonder if our normal will ever exist again! To be honest, this pandemic has changed you, it has changed the world, and it changed the way you view the world. Nothing will ever be that particular normal again. However, you can make your new normal by learning to focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t.

You can make changes in your life and teach your family to adapt to the situation at hand. Instead of getting upset about the changes you’ve had to make, learn to make the changes you need to make yourself happy with the situation you are in. Be the change maker!

While you’re scrolling through your phone, look at your contacts. Which of your relatives, friends, or family are living alone? Have you checked on them? Being alone in a changing world is hard for everyone, but it’s even worse for the people who feel like they’re alone in the world. Give them a call, stop by to make sure they’re okay, and give them a way to stay connected to the outside world! Who knows what kind of difference you could make in someone’s life!

How do we fix it? Build it back up! Be the nice one. Say the right words. Don’t fall into the trap of fueling that feud. Instead, build that family up. Who knows, in the end you may just find an old best friend waiting to be part of your life again!

You do know that what you are feeling is feelings, right? You are in charge of your own feelings. Nobody else can “make you feel” anything. That’s all you. You also get the choice to move past those feelings and be a happier person. It’s your feeling, your responsibility to change the way you feel. So the next time you are asked to go to that family gathering, remember that you want to be happier and the rest of your family deserves to be relaxed. Build that family up; don’t tear them down!
