What will the world look like in ten years? Here is what I see when I think about the future:
In the year 2033, the world is recovering from the great disaster. Half of mankind was wiped off the map, and the other half scattered around the world to find a way to sustain life.
The plan was to go out and explore the world so that they could come back together and establish a new world; one in which the people worked together to provide housing, food, and every need of the people.
About six years into this journey, exploration groups, returned to the big land, and found that most of the land had been destroyed. All that seemed to be left where the two pole territories, the big land, and the tropical territory. That would be four territories, and so much water.
The people decided to form one government with the four territories, the future water territory, and the historians.
They have decided that the new world leaders should share their responsibilities and that no one person would be in charge. Everything would be voted on and decided at quarterly meetings. The entire population would have a say in what will become of their new society.
I understand that people are gasping at the “one world order” but the world needed some sort of order and it was important that we had no dictators and no war. Society had to band together and learn to take care of each other. It was the only way mankind would ever survive.
Each territory would be in charge of establishing food, shelter, and essentials for the people in their area. They decided against making uniform housing because each planet need a different types of shelter and has different materials to use. Each territory would also provide enough food or raw materials to help the others.
The territories at the two poles were still glacier-like. Housing would be created in the ice. They carve caves into the icy mountains and used scraps around them to insulate, finish, and establish food sources. These people would explore the wildlife and the land to see what was still left, and gather anything they could salvage or repurpose.
The tropical territory was located closer to the equator, and was formed by landmasses breaking apart and forming new ones. There were two islands, each about the size of Australia. These islands would be known as the tropical territory and would be in charge of finding a way to grow food and figure out which animals survived the disaster. Their houses would be made from trees, leaves, and ash left over from the dead volcanoes.
The people in the future water territory will live on the outskirts of the big land territory while they discover new ways to inhabit the Earth by while living on or under the water. They will discover ways to farm food (both plants and animals) underwater. They will discover technology that allows them to live safely beneath the water and will build communities on the seafloor as well as building vessels to live on the water.
The big land territory is where the remaining people will live. This land is roughly the size of North America, South America, Russia, and Africa, all combined. The land is huge, and the deserts have sunken into the sea. All that remains is green land, plants and animals. This is where most life ended up after the disaster. It is to remain the largest source of food and shelter until the future water territory is ready to help provide.
Money doesn’t exist anymore. Everyone is expected to do their job and to exist peacefully.
The disaster has taught them just how important it is for the entire world to work together and live in harmony.
As far as fashion goes, clothing is seen as an essential and will be adjusted to fit the climate of each area. People are no longer obsessed with the way they look. Instead, they want to be clean and comfortable in their climate.
Fads aren’t for thing anymore. Unfortunately, the disaster wiped out most of the museums and libraries throughout the world. It’s up to a new group of historians to write down, recover from, and re-create the history for future generations.
The Internet is no longer a thing and even electricity is a thing of the past.
These new world territories are continuously discovering new ways to get power and rediscovering some of the old-world work-arounds.
Society does not separate social and work aspects of life anymore. Everything they do is for a purpose.
Each person is expected to stretch in the morning to get their bodies moving and to keep fit and then again at night to relax and rest peacefully.
When the people wake up, they immediately begin foraging, cooking, cleaning, planning, building, and even have learned to take scheduled meditation and spiritual time. There is no established religion, but the entire world is filled with spirituality and peacefulness.
This world is healing. It will take some time with the world to heal completely, but at least the people are finally working together and are actually thriving.
