Make Today Amazing!
Is your To Do List overwhelmingly long? Does it seem like you don’t have enough time to complete all the tasks on that list? Do you find that each task seems more important or urgent than the next?
These are signs that you need to prioritize your to do list. But how do you do that?
Let’s break it down a little.
1. Set your goals for the day – Imagine it’s the end of the day and you are looking back over the day. What would you like to have accomplished? It’s important to make your goals short and to the point. If you completed these goals, how would you feel?
2. Write down everything you feel you need to do – Make that list. Write everything you can think of no matter how weird you think it is. This helps to get it out of your mind; which helps you to stop stressing over getting it done.
3. Review the list in front of you – Circle the tasks that you feel need to be done before the end of the day. Put a heart by the tasks that make you feel amazing. Put a “D” by the tasks you can delegate to someone else. Cross off anything that can wait or isn’t important and let it go.
Now you have prioritized your list. How much of the list didn’t make the final cut? How does that feel?
If you start to feel overwhelmed as you go through your day, mentally re-prioritize the tasks you have left. Be prepared to let go of anything that isn’t a priority. Make sure to keep at least one thing on the list that prioritizes you and makes you feel amazing!
